Description

In 2007, Walter Kravitz was selected and approved to create a public art installation at the Nationals Baseball Stadium suspended in the entrance of the Grand Staircase. He designed and created a series of forty-eight five-six foot action baseball figures attached to a rotating frame so that the viewers would approach the work from all angles and directions. According to Kravitz, this creatively elicits “a baseball atmosphere upon entry or a memory upon leaving the stadium,” and it truly contributes to the important role that art continues to play in all aspects of D.C life.
