Description

Born in 1926 in Saint Louis, Missouri, Jack Youngerman's first solo show of geometric abstractions debuted at the Galerie Arnaud, Paris in 1951.

In a 1966 Artforum interview he said his work is "an exploration and articulation of all the possibilities of abstract shape as opposed to the shape of things and as opposed to geometric work where you work with pre-existing shapes."
