Description

This painted heart was commissioned as part of SF General's inaugural “Hearts in San Francisco” public art program, which created and auctioned 130 of these heart sculptures to benefit the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.

Fun Fact! This artwork is also a percussion instrument. The segmented sections at the top of the heart play different pitches when you hit them with the mallet that's attached with a string.

Since this artwork is installed on a private residence, please respect the privacy of those who live there if you're visiting in person!

Commissioned By
San Francisco General Hospital
Location
