Description

This memorial was dedicated on November 7, 1984.

The man standing at the fence is derived from Margaret Bourke-White’s 1945 Life Magazine photograph of the liberation of Buchenwald. Segal intentionally included Christ-like figure and a woman holding an apple among the figures to symbolize the connection between Judaism and Christianity.

Location

The Holocaust Memorial, 34th Avenue
