Description

Created by Daniel Oberti in 2004, this piece of art is made up of two ceramic spheres and a ceramic wall. The art is heavily textured and in earthy brown colors, giving this piece a rustic look and feel. The art is surrounded by native plants and positioned right next to the recently rehabilitated Foss Creek.

Born in San Francisco in 1945, he began his career in art and moved to Sonoma County to pursue his dreams. Starting with small ceramic pieces, he moved onto larger works of art as seen in his "Spirit Walls and Spheres." Oberti has also used his ceramic spheres to model the universe and planets, leaving displays of his work all over the world including places like Sweden and Italy.

Sadly, Oberti passed away in May of 2009. Before his death, he was quoted as saying "I work to unveil the elusive." Though no longer with is, Oberti hopes his art will continue to mystify and inspire people as much as it did him when creating his ceramics.
