Description

This was the first public art to be installed along the Embarcadero in 1985. Given as a gift to the City and County of San Francisco from Johnson & Higgins, the sculpture was dedicated to the poet and philosopher Eric Hoffer.

Fun Fact! It’s made of polished stainless steel and stands 27 feet tall!
